-- Region 2020 Goals, From the "Book on Region 2020"

Noble Street, downtown Anniston
As part of the Region 2020 visioning process, thousands of citizens identified 34 goals for improving quality of life in the region, and 217 strategies for helping achieve those goals, which together made up a comprehensive community agenda. A series of action steps to accomplish the goals also were identified, along with Region 2020’s role in implementation.

Since 1998 when the goals and strategies were identified, Region 2020’s mission has been to work with others in the 12-county region to accomplish the goals. Region 2020 serves primarily as catalyst, convener and/or facilitator, bringing people together and resources who can help improve quality of life in the region.
